I found a tailor.

And I made up a dress design.

Low at the back, revealing at the front, figure- hugging with a long train and bits of sparkle… the usual cut which attempts to win over an audience before you’ve even sung a note. Perfect.

The Thai tailors (who spoke very limited English) then set to work at a speed unimaginable to a British builder. They did a fabulous job but at the final fitting back at the hotel, the dress just felt… tight. I couldn’t move in it properly and certainly had trouble breathing. I was trying to walk with every part of me tucked in. I realised this was hopeless.

Stating my concerns to the tailor, he came out with the following reply:

“But Miss, this is your holiday body.”

????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for a detox.

22 vegetable juices, 13 iceberg lettuces and 400 vats of water later,
the body is now dress-worthy and ready to be shown off tonight.

(roll on the steak and carbs tomorrow…)

Bliss! Early morning runs along the harbour, catching up with friends for lunches, teas, dinners, and just wandering aimlessly around the beautiful city, appreciating the time I have to myself before getting back into ‘show mode’ in a few days’ time. Time to breathe. Gorgeous.

Plenty of activity to look forward to this year, a major highlight being the 3-week cruise in April to commemorate the 100 years since the sinking of the Titanic. We’ll be sailing towards the exact spot where it sank and will be holding a memorial service at 2.20 am on April 15th to pay tribute to all the brave passengers and crew on board that fateful night. I’m putting a special program together now for entertainment during the cruise, and am pretty sure one particular song will be required… !

Many more interesting projects in the diary including the imminent release of my new track and video based on the well-known Buddhist chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo – a very personal project which I’ll talk about once it’s been released…

Until then, I wish you a very Happy New Year and save me some turkey and a mince pie as I’ll be celebrating Christmas towards the end of January when I’m finally back in Europe and have got over the jet lag!
